All of the international oil companies perform regular inspections of their airport facilities to ensure that they are operated in accordance with their procedures.  To reduce the number of inspections per year at joint venture locations, participating companies agreed to perform inspections according to a rota and to share the results of their inspections with the other participants.

The Joint Inspection Group was formed to administer the schedule of inspections, to meet twice per year to review inspection report recommendations, to approve amendments to the Joint Guidelines, and to update the joint facilities inspection form in line with Joint Guidelines.
