Jeddah- A press delegate conducting a visit to the plant of Arabian Petroleum Supply Company (APSCO), at the Industrial Area in Jeddah Governorate, to inspect the highly advanced technologies adopted by APSCO for the production and mixing of lubricants and grease in order to offer the best quality products for the Saudi local market and to the importing countries
The press delegate toured the plant and visited the Quality Laboratory, which is considered one of the most advanced quality test lab in the Middle East, and equipped with up to date testing equipment and technologies to ensure high quality products that comply with the highest standards of Exxon Mobil lubricant plants around the world, as well as to get accurate and reliable results to assist the production lines in the plant.
The plant has modern laboratories to ensure that all products comply with the international standards and specifications, as well as to test and analysis all products and raw material used for the production of lubricants and grease. A major test has been conducted by APSCO labs included a group of researches to ensure that all lubricants and grease manufactured by APSCO plant are reliable and suitable to be used under the Saudi Arabian climate and topography conditions. APSCO lubricants and grease plant has obtained ISO 9001 certificate for quality management, and ISO 9014 certificate for environmental management.
On this occasion, Engineer Salem Al-Attas, Chief Production Engineer of APSCO plant said that the company is currently working on increasing its production capacity in the coming period in order to increase its market share in the target markets and to open new markets in the region, as well as to be able to meet the fierce competition in the local market.
APSCO plant for lubricants and grease considered as one of the most important plants in Saudi Arabia in oil industry, it was established in 1998 as a joint venture between Exxon Mobil and Saudi Petroleum Supply Company (APSCO) for manufacturing and distributing of lubricants and oil derivatives.
Afterwards, The Arab Petroleum Supply Company (APSCO) bought the foreigners' stakes and the plant became 100% Saudi, and one of the largest independent lubricants and grease producer in the Middle East,
The plant built on an area of 40,000 square meters with an annual production capacity of about 55 thousand metric tons of lubricants, grease and other oil derivatives products used by various means of land and sea transportation including light, medium and heavy vehicles, heavy equipments and ships. APSCO has about 400 employees working in its various departments.
